From Sana to Magento: ordering the way timber customers work
Business Central and Acadon remain in place. Vendic shaped Magento ordering around customer prices, timber lengths and pallet shipping.
- Agreed prices
- customer pricing from Business Central
- Every length
- added to the basket in one go
- Pallets
- calculated for each order
Late 2024: the new B2B store goes live
From Sana Commerce to Magento + Hyvä
Miedema Bouwmaterialen already used Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with the Acadon module for the timber trade. Its existing Sana Commerce store offered too little room for its own design and ordering requirements. Updates were also a risk. After one version migration, the shop stood still for 3.5 months because of a bug no one could explain. Miedema wanted out.
The store has run on Magento + Hyvä since late 2024. Vendic built the store; NVision Commerce Solutions provides the integration with Business Central and Acadon through Commerce 365 for Magento.
Keeping Business Central at the centre
Products, prices, stock, customers and orders can still be managed from Business Central. The team does not need to move to another ERP. Magento provides room to shape the store, content and marketing.
Business customers can order in a way that fits their work: at their agreed prices, with several lengths in one order and delivery on pallets.
Why Miedema chose Magento + Hyvä
The choice
Miedema wanted a store that fitted the timber trade: the right number of pallets for each order and delivery using its own transport in selected postcode areas.
We could configure those requirements in Magento + Hyvä. Miedema can also have the design adapted to its own brand.
The trade-off
Staying with Sana offered the benefit of an existing ERP integration. But the version Miedema used left little room for the changes it wanted. Development and support were shifting towards the SaaS version. Miedema also paid a monthly fee plus a percentage of revenue.
Switching meant investing in a new store and integration. In return, Miedema gained the freedom to develop the store around its own products and ordering process.
What held the switch back for so long
The switch was delayed because Miedema first needed a reliable integration with Business Central and Acadon outside Sana. Its earlier migration problems made that certainty particularly important.
Commerce 365 for Magento by NVision offered that option, allowing Miedema to keep its existing ERP. Vendic configured the store around the pricing, products and ordering habits of the timber trade.

Every length in one order
Ordering the way timber customers work
A customer often needs several lengths of the same timber. The Miedema store shows them on one product page. Customers enter a quantity for each length and add everything to their basket in one go.
The trade-off
The alternative was to select a length, add it to the basket and start again for the next size. Showing all lengths together avoids repeating those steps. That is why we chose this way of ordering.
We also developed ordering by timber length for Eerste Barneveldse Houthandel. For Goedkoop Bouwmaterialen, the focus is branch stock and collection.

September 2026: design approved, build in progress
Why a new design
The B2B platform is in use. Its current design stayed close to the Hyvä standard. Miedema now wants its own brand to come through more clearly.
We are creating a new design through Vendic AI design, on the existing platform.
From approved design to working store
Our consultants used Vendic AI to design the home page, category page and two product pages: one for a single product and one for ordering multiple lengths. Colours, fonts and buttons are documented in a brand guide.
Miedema has approved the design. We are now building it in Hyvä. The images below show the approved proposal; this design is not live yet.

Miedema’s visual identity
The familiar shades of green remain recognisable. Shared rules for colours, fonts and buttons give the new pages a consistent look.
Green for brand recognition, dark text for readability and amber for order buttons.
We have been working with Vendic for over two and a half years now and have been very happy with the collaboration from the start. What we appreciate most are the short lines and the personal contact. When something comes up in our webshop, we can act quickly and often get a response the same day. They don't just look at the problem, they genuinely think along about the best solution for our situation.
With their knowledge of Magento and Hyvä, a great deal is technically possible. Even when we come up with an idea ourselves without knowing exactly how to approach it technically, they think along and look for a solution. That lets us keep improving our webshop and adding new functionality.
The collaboration is approachable, personal and, above all, simply pleasant. Vendic's events are a nice extra and a good moment to meet in person. In short, Vendic is a great partner for us and one we are happy to keep working with.

From design to new store
The first three steps are complete: the design is approved. Vendic is now building the Hyvä theme at a fixed price.
Set the style
We used Miedema’s existing shades of green and typeface as the starting point for the new pages.
Design proposals
Our consultants used Vendic AI to create proposals for the home, category and product pages.
Sign-off on design
Miedema has approved the design. It forms the basis for the build.
Build the Hyvä theme
We are now building the approved design in Hyvä at a fixed price. Before launch, we will test the store and ordering process.
After completion: launch
Once the build and checks are complete, the new design will go live on the existing B2B platform, retaining the Business Central integration.
