Huissteden
Huissteden, a Dutch sewing-machine specialist, wanted a lightning-fast Magento storefront without sacrificing rich functionality or SMB-friendly budgets. We rebuilt the frontend on Hyvä and delivered a custom Product Part Finder that links sellable parts to each machine, so shoppers can pinpoint compatible components by brand and model in seconds. The result is a cleaner buying journey and measurable real-world speed, underscored by a 99/100 RUMvision UX score based on actual user data rather than lab runs—evidence that performance improvements translate into everyday experience.
We focused on disciplined, maintainable performance engineering. The foundation uses Hyvä Theme and Hyvä Checkout, with third-party scripts trimmed or loaded on demand, a server-side cookie banner, and automatically right-sized WebP imagery. Magewire enables instant add-to-cart without page reloads, while RUMvision (frontend) and Tideways/New Relic (backend) provide continuous instrumentation. This combination turns tuning into a repeatable process across templates and releases, keeping the codebase lean, the UX responsive, and the scope predictable for an SMB context—ready for future iterations without regressions.
This project won Best Performance Improvement at the Hyvä Hive Awards 2025 in London (16 October 2025). Improvements verified in Google PageSpeed Insights show clear step-changes across key templates: Homepage 66 → 100, Category Machines 60 → 84, Category Garen & Vlies 62 → 95, Product page Lockgaren 59 → 98, and the Juki product page 37 → 97. These results reflect the Hyvä rebuild, careful third-party control, Magewire-driven interactions, and ongoing RUMvision/Tideways monitoring—turning engineering choices into gains customers feel immediately.
